Lisa K. Laird Powers, 52, of rural Little York, IL passed away at 4:48 pm, Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at the Select Specialty Hospital, Davenport, IA.Lisa was born on January 14, 1967 in Monmouth, IL, the daughter of George L. and Mary Jo (Martin) Laird. She grew up on a farm in the Bald Bluff area and graduated from Yorkwood High School in 1985. She later graduated from Nanny School and spent several years as a nanny for various families. Lisa moved to Libby, Montana and married Mitch Powers in December 1998. Lisa enjoyed talking to her friends on Facebook, watching the humming birds and cardinals from the porch, reading recipes, playing marbles with papa, and enjoying the farm life. She especially loved spending time with Aubrie and Lexi. Survivors include her son, Brock Powers of Little York, IL, her mother, Mary Jo Laird of Little York, IL; her sister, Kim (David) Olin of Galesburg, IL; three brothers, Brent Sharer of Galesburg, Jeff (Mitzi) Sharer of Little York and Chris (Lisa) Laird of Thornton, CO; her nieces and nephews, Aaron Olin, Ashely Olin, Megan Sharer, Brooke Sharer, Brandon Sharer, Hunter Laird, Heather Laird, Ashely Lefler and Justin Lefler; many great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father; her grandparents, Ronald and Velva Laird of Monmouth and Roy and Margaret Martin of Alexis.
Cremation has been accorded and per Lisa’s wishes no services will be held. Memorials may be given to the Brock Powers Education Fund.
