Ag company with Knox County presence announces merger with other ag company. Here’s what we know

An agriculture equipment dealer with a big Knox County presence is merging with another similar company.

Durand, Illinois-based A.C. McCartney says it’s merging with a company formed last year from another merger, called “Parallel Ag.”

“The merger provides ACM with the resources to continue to grow our business and serve our customers just as we have the past 74 years,” said Woody McCartney, A.C. McCartney President, in a news release.  “Parallel Ag aligns perfectly with ACM’s values and I am confident they are the best partner for our brand, our customers and our employees.”

Both companies say the A.C. McCartney name will remain the same at all its dealerships, including in Wataga, Durand, Carthage, Mount Sterling, and Fulton, in addition to service in 34 counties in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Iowa.

Parallel will now have 17 stores across Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Minnesota, and Illinois.

The companies say both will be able to offer better services and benefits to its customers.

“The scale we will both gain from this partnership will give us the ability to offer even more benefits and services to our customers as well as the added experience and expertise that each company brings.” said Shawn Skaggs, Parallel Ag President, in the news release.

It’s not clear if there will be any employment changes because of the merger.
