Riders asked, city listened — Galesburg’s Blue Route gets new stops May 11

Galesburg transit riders asked for closer access to two popular destinations — and starting May 11, they will have it.

The city is updating the public transportation Blue Route to include new drop-off locations at O.N. Custer Park and the Department of Motor Vehicles, two stops that transit patrons had frequently requested. The changes follow recommendations from the Traffic Advisory Committee and take effect May 11, 2026.

“These adjustments reflect our continued commitment to listening to our community and improving transit service where it matters most,” said Kraig Boynton, Transit Manager.

Riders are also reminded that buses will only pick up and drop off passengers at designated stops, bus benches, and bus shelters. Official stop locations are identifiable as colored circles on the Passio GO mobile app and website.

Live maps in the app and online will continue to show the current route until May 11, when they will automatically update to reflect the new route information.

For real-time bus tracking and route updates, riders can download the Passio GO app or visit passiogo.com and select the City of Galesburg. For more information, visit the City of Galesburg website or contact Galesburg Public Transportation at (309) 345-3686.
