Paul J. “Wimpy” Adams, 68, of Galesburg, died at 6:49 p.m. Sunday, April 28, 2019, at home. He was born August 18, 1950, in Galesburg, the son of Paul C. and Virginia L. (Lamb) Adams. He is survived by a sister, Betty B. Wall of Galesburg; a daughter, Melissa; eight nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Margaret Kilpatrick, and Patricia Morris; and a nephew, Adam Wall. Wimpy worked in construction in Galesburg for 20 years before moving to Paducah, Kentucky, where he was a carpenter for 30 years. He retired January 30, 2012, and returned to Galesburg. He enjoyed fishing, riding motorcycles, and going to flea markets. Paul served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

Visitation will be 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, May 3, 2019, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel. Graveside services will follow at 2:30 p.m. in East Linwood Cemetery with Chaplain Jordan Knight officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
