Early Tuesday, August 4th, Galesburg Police were dispatched to Grand Tobacco on Grand Avenue in Galesburg in reference to a criminal damage to property call. According to police reports, officers made contact with the establishment’s owner and could see the southeast side glass door had been shattered. Officers also observed several black electrical cords on the ground outside the building. After doing a sweep of the building – officers noticed more black cords inside the building. It was then confirmed that an ATM machine that was just inside the entrance had been taken. While reviewing security footage, a black male subject in a black hoodie could be seen breaking the glass door, enter the building, tip over the ATM and then push it through the shattered door. Moments later, a red Chrysler Town & Country minivan that was parked next door at The Corral pulls in and a white male subject in a black sweatshirt gets out. The minivan had a black rim on the rear passenger side and a chrome rim on the front passenger side. The two subjects then lift the ATM into the back of the van and depart northbound on Grand Avenue.
