Galesburg Cottage Hospital says as of Friday they are suspending all visitors, “unless it is essential to patient care.”
Out-patient surgical patients may have their driver accompany them to the surgical family wait room but they must remain in the waiting room at all times, according to a release from Cottage.
In the Emergency Department, only one adult visitor will be allowed.
The hospital didn’t specifically cite a recent surge in local COVID-19 cases.
However, they do say “Since the situation surrounding the coronavirus continues to evolve and changes occur rapidly, the hospital advises community members to check with their provider or call the hospital in advance for further updates.
