
New cases of COVID-19 continue to decline in Knox County.
The Knox County Unified Command Tuesday released numbers for the week between Monday, October 11, through Sunday, October 17, announcing 114 new cases were reported.
According to the Illinois Department of Public Health’s online COVID dashboard, there have been 7,244 cases of the novel viral disease reported since the beginning of the pandemic and 169 deaths.
The Knox County Health Department is holding several vaccination clinics this week and into next where all three of the approved vaccinations will be offered.
- Tuesday, October 19, at the Unified Command Vaccine Center 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm Pfizer & Janssen (12 years of age and up)
- Wednesday, October 20, at the City of Galesburg (Teen Court Room) 10 am – 12 pm Pfizer, Moderna, and Janssen (12 years of age and up)
- Thursday, October 21, at the Unified Command Vaccine Center 8:30 am – 10:30 am Moderna & Janssen (18 years of age and up)
- Monday, October 25, at the Galesburg Public Library 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm Pfizer, Moderna, and Janssen (12 years of age and up)
Additionally, are being administered to those who self-attest to being immune-compromised and those on immunosuppressant therapy at ass Unified Vaccine Clinics and events. Third dose vaccines must be given at least 28 days after the second dose. The additional vaccine dose should be the same as the initial two-dose vaccine.
The Health Department continues to offer Curbside COVID-19 Testing on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:30 am – 3:30 pm; appointments are made the same day by calling 309-344-2225 beginning at 7:15 am. Health care providers in the community are also offering testing options as well as local pharmacies.
