Charles Robert “Reno” Whittaker, 69, formerly of Galesburg, died on Monday, November 29, 2021, in Stockton, California, where he has lived for over 30 years.
He was born October 5, 1952, in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Minnie Lee (Whittaker) and Robert Vollmer.
He is survived by three children, Keion Whittaker, Travaun Whittaker, and Crystal Caylen; 10 grandchildren including eight of Keion’s, Keion Whittaker Jr., Kamar Whittaker, Kecie Whittaker, Ariana Whittaker, Keely Whittaker, Kyce Jacobs, Quincy Whittaker, and Marshall Robinson, and two of Crystal’s; and three nieces: Tynetta Akinsanya and her children, Gabriella Rosario, Alaya Wallace, Aleeya Wallace, Eullas Goodwin, Jaleea Akinsanya, Jalaya Akinsanya, and Amenia Akinsanya; Nanett Lepore of Detroit; and Nicole Brooks of Las Vegas. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Tyrone Whittaker; and a sister, Nancy F. White.
