Galesburg lands numerous athletes on WB6 spring all-conference teams, including 1 MVP

The Western Big 6 Conference has released 2023 All-Conference Teams for the spring season. Athletes were selected by vote of Western Big 6 coaches. Coaches nominated athletes from their team but could not vote for players from their team.

In Girls Track, Galesburg Junior Syriah Boyd was named conference MVP. Boyd was named First Team All-Conference in the 100 meters, 200 meters, and 400 meters.

In baseball, selected to the All-Conference 1st Team is Galesburg Senior Easton Steck and Senior Charlie Lardi. GHS Seniors Tristan Legate and Alonzo Giles were selected to the 2nd team. Conference baseball MVP was Rock Island’s Owen Michaels.

In Softball, Galesburg Junior Maci McCants was selected to the 2nd team while GHS Senior Hanna Dillbeck made Honorable Mention. Geneseo’s Jaelyn Lambin was named conference MVP.

In girls Soccer, Galesburg Junior Angelina Swan and Freshman Mady Lardi were both named Honorable Mention.

In Boys Track, first team all-conference selections are: Junior Plamedi Nseka in the 400 meter, and Galesburg’s 4×200 relay team made up of Juniors Bryson Thomas, Markis Lewis, Adrien Phillips, and Amarie Richardson. All-conference 2nd team selections includes Galesburg’s 4×100 relay team, 4×400 relay team, and 4×800 relay team. The GHS 4×400 team is made up of Juniors Riley Stevenson, Plamedi Nseka, and Sophomore Jamar Range. The GHS 4×800 relay team is Junior Andrew Peterson, Luke Thomas, and Senior Max Martinez.
