Ameren Illinois crews are working to restore power to roughly 200 customers in downtown Galesburg after an underground cable failure.
Among those affected is WGIL and the other Galesburg Broadcasting Group stations at 154 E. Simmons St.
Brian Bretsch, Public and Media Relations Manager for Ameren Illinois, said several crews are on the scene working to isolate the problem before making the repair.
“An underground cable has malfunctioned and the crews are trying to safely isolate the issue to make the repair,” Bretsch said.
No estimated restoration time has been given at this time.
