The Galesburg City Council approved three more business grants under the women/minority-owned business grant programs on Monday night.
The first approved was Bella Vida Hair Studio, LLC, located at 1131 N Henderson St. for $10,000.
The business owned by Andrea Lopez will provide hair salon and grooming services and continuing education and mentorship opportunities.
A few of the services to be offered include; haircuts, hair extensions, beard & facial hair grooming, hot towel & straight razor shaves, chemical services, scalp/hair treatments, hair color service, facial and body waxing, makeup, and skincare.
The second business approved was Double Play, LLC, a walk-up sandwich/snack shop located at 1315 E Losey St.
In addition to its physical location near O.N. Custer Park, the business also offers catering and travels to sporting events by request.
Double Play’s owner, Jonna Lee, was also approved for $10,000. The walk-up sandwich shop opened March 20 at 1315 E. Losey St., just down the right field line at O.N. Custer Park.
The third grant was for Phone Home/ Vibrant Life Coaching, LLC located at 311 E Main St, Suite 418.
The business will provide the primary function of making phone calls to those elderly and living alone to have conversations with them, as well as check on their well-being.
Family members will be the primary customers of the business and will get regular updates from staff regarding their loved ones.
Owner Lauren P. Brown anticipates creating two full-time positions by the end of year 2 so she also was eligible for $10,000.
