The Galesburg area dodged a bullet in terms of severe weather Tuesday.
According to storm reports filed with the National Weather Service, it would appear as if severe weather in places like Macomb, Burlington, Iowa, and even into the Quad Cities, skirted by Galesburg, leaving the city almost unscathed.
The most reports were somewhat large hail across those areas into Henry County, but a couple areas saw some brief heavy rain. A storm spotter reported one-and-a-half inches of rain Tuesday afternoon near Macomb.
There’s another chance of rain through the day Thursday, but severe weather doesn’t seem to be a problem. The only concern then will be a cool-down for the weekend.
