Dallas was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Joshua D. Burge and a brother, Otis O. Burge.
Dallas was a graduate of Knoxville High School. After high school, Dallas went on to do many things. He owned and operated multiple businesses including Knoxville Ice, Burge and Sons Industrial Maintenance and Knoxville Portable Welding. He moved heavy machinery and also worked in the mines, among other roles. Dallas was a very talented man when it came to building or fixing things. He was a jack of all trades. Dallas took pride in his home that he built for his family. He passed down his love and talent for fixing things to his sons. He loved traveling, especially west to the mountains and riding motorcycles whenever he got the chance. When Dallas wasn’t working or spending time with his boys, he could be found helping anyone that needed a hand. After retiring, Dallas continued to work, whether it was helping out friends, family or a stranger to tinkering with things around the farm. His infectious laugh and wittiness will be missed by many.
To respect Dallas wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and no services are planned. A celebration of life will be held on Monday, May 12, 2025 from 5–8 p.m. at one of his favorite places, Alfano’s, Knoxville, 801 East Main Street, Knoxville. Memorials may be made to the family.
