Deer-related crash on I-74 near Galesburg sends four to hospital

A deer-related crash on Interstate 74 westbound near Galesburg sent four people to an area hospital late Sunday, according to the Illinois State Police Troop 4.

The incident at milepost 50.5, reported at approximately 9:38 p.m., began when a Ford Escape struck a deer, disabling the vehicle. A Toyota Sienna then collided with the Ford, injuring the Toyota’s driver and two passengers, as well as the Ford’s driver.

The roadway was closed until around 10:30 p.m. as authorities responded. Details on the injuries remain unavailable, and no further information has been released.
