Edith Williamson, 87, of Wataga, Illinois died at 1:45 P.M. Friday, December 4, 2015 in Wataga, Illinois.She was born on February 6, 1928 in Industry, Illinois, the daughter of Ralph and Nora (Stacker) Lindsey. She married Dale E. Williamson on November 10, 1946 in Galesburg, Illinois. He preceded her in death on April 15, 1997.
Edith is survived by one daughter, Gail Lynn (Alan) Cuzzone of Downers Grove, Illinois; one son, Stephen Paul Williamson of Morgantown, Indiana; five grandchildren, Joseph, Michael, Kristin, Sarah, and Henry; two great-grandchildren, Sean and Logan; and one sister, Vera Wheeler, of Industry, Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one brother, Howard; one sister, Orma Jean; and one half-brother, Lloyd.
Edith was reared and educated in the Industry and Bardolph, Illinois area. She worked many years at the Galesburg Research Hospital and she was also a homemaker.
She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church of Wataga, where she was active for many years with WELCA. She also was a member of the Knox County Home Extension and the Wataga Seniors.
The family would like to express their dear thanks to cousins, Tim and Vicki Calkins, who have been guardian angels and graciously taken care of Edith the past few months.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 12, 2015 at the Faith Lutheran Church of Wataga, Illinois. Rev. Tim Anderson and Rev. Robert Franek will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 12, 2015 at the church. Burial will be at the Wataga Cemetery, Wataga, Illinois with a luncheon at the church afterwards.
