
A 48-year-old Galesburg man was arrested yesterday after allegedly firing a weapon into the air outside of a residence in the 100 block of W. Water St.
Gilbert Bicknell is charged with unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon and aggravated discharge of a firearm.
According to police reports, a witness reported a dark car was seen slowly driving west on Water St. with the lights turned off. Bicknell rode in the passenger seat.
When the vehicle came to a stop in front of a residence, Bicknell stepped onto the street and was allegedly seen firing a weapon into the air while the driver fired out of the window.
Police were able to track a description of the vehicle to Bicknell’s residence on Cedar St. where he was arrested. The driver of the vehicle has yet to be apprehended.
Bicknell received a $25,000 bond yesterday in Knox County Circuit Court. As of yesterday, legal representation in the case had yet to be announced.
