It’ll cost a little more to attend Carl Sandburg College starting in the fall.

The Carl Sandburg Board of Trustees approved a slight increase to the tuition rate at their meeting Thursday night.

In-district tuition increased by 5$ per credit hour to $175. For students who live out-of-district, tuition increased by $7 to $262. And, for students living out of state, tuition increased by $8 to $292.

Sandburg kept tuition rates flat for the current academic year to help reduce the financial impact on students during the Coronavirus pandemic.

In other actions from the board, trustees approved two bids for the community college’s building automation system and for electrical system upgrades.

Mechanical Inc’s bid of $216,334 for upgrades to the College’s building automation systems was approved as well as an award of $395,610 was made to AMP Electrical Services for the electrical system upgrades.

The combined total came to $611,944. Far under the $800,00 budget for the projects.
