Drivers on U.S. 150/Illinois 78 between Brimfield and Laura should plan for delays starting Tuesday, April 28, as the Illinois Department of Transportation begins a resurfacing project expected to last through mid-July.

The work will reduce U.S. 150/Illinois 78 to one lane, with traffic controlled by flaggers. The project runs from the Interstate 74 exit ramp to U.S. 150 in Brimfield and Laura and includes median work, patching, milling, and resurfacing.

IDOT is urging motorists to allow extra time for trips through the area, consider alternate routes when possible, obey posted speed limits, and stay off mobile devices in the work zone.

The project is part of Rebuild Illinois, a $33.2 billion statewide transportation investment program. IDOT says accomplishments through year six of the program include nearly $20.8 billion in improvements to more than 21,300 lane miles of highway, 815 bridges, and 1,181 additional safety improvements statewide.
