Galesburg Community Chorus presents 2024 holiday concert

The Galesburg Community Chorus will give a holiday concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8 at First Presbyterian Church, 101 N. Prairie St. in Galesburg.

Karl Jenkins’ joyous Stella Natalis is a 12 movement work for chorus and orchestra that celebrates peace and new beginnings in the holiday season, drawing on texts that range from the Old Testament and Psalms to Zulu and Hindu sources. Audiences will also enjoy several familiar seasonal carols. The Chorus will be holding its Silent Art Auction before and after this performance.

Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for seniors and free for students; they may be purchased at the door or online at www.galesburgcommunitychorus.org.

Tim Pahel and Will Culbertson with Galesburg Community Chorus joined WGIL's Tyler Gumm and Jay Redfern on Galesburg's Morning News to preview the event.
