Commit2Fit: Lose weight, get healthy, win prizes

Commit2Fit is a FREE 8-week weight-loss program designed to motivate, educate, and

help participants make healthier choices. It’s a community weight-loss challenge where

participants can win cash and prizes. The individual who loses the highest percentage of body weight will be the contest winner.

Carrie McCants, Public Relations Communications Coordinator from OSF

HealthCare, joined Galesburg's Morning News to preview the event.

This will be the 14th year of the program. Every three years, OSF HealthCare conducts a community health needs assessment, and one of the major health concerns identified in Knox County was obesity. In response, OSF HealthCare, Galesburg Broadcasting, and the YMCA developed this weight-loss challenge to help improve the community's health.

Weigh-in dates are Thursday, Jan. 30 from 4 -6 p.m., and Friday, Jan. 31 from 6-8 a.m., both at the Downtown Y in Galesburg.
