Knox County Clerk’s side of the story on property tax issue with District 205

Last week on WGIL's "Galesburg in Focus," Galesburg School District Superintendent John Asplund claimed that what likely was a significant tax increase could be blamed on Knox County Clerk Scott Erickson and his office.  Asplund claimed the levy rate the district got wasn't what they wanted, and that forms related to that were late in coming to the district.

Erickson, meanwhile, claims outside of a small delay so that his office could handle elections, nothing was late in coming to the district, and that the money the Galesburg School District asked for in their annual levy request was exactly what they got, and that's what caused the significant property tax hike.
