Galesburg Great Balloon Race takes off Friday

Balloon Race

Here's another thing to do in Galesburg that won't cost you anything, or will cost you very little.  The Galesburg Great Balloon Race runs Friday night through Sunday morning at Lake Storey Park.

More than two dozen hot-air balloonists will take flight in competition, then let you get up close and personal with them.  That's in addition to food and other activities for children.

Greg Saul, organizer, talks with Will Stevenson on Galesburg's Evening News.

‘Elementary Earthworks’ hopes to, well, grow beyond being a home-based business

A relatively new Galesburg business is "sprouting" up from the back yard of a local home.

"Elementary Earthworks" started out as the idea of Rosie and Alex Theobald.  Their mission is to grow all-natural, chemical-free produce that they are then selling to the public, and to local restaurants.

As the Theobalds tell Will Stevenson on Galesburg's Morning News, they hope to find even more land in order to keep growing.
