REPLAY: Galesburg Silver Streaks football vs United Township

The Galesburg High School Silver Streaks football team fell on Homecoming night to United Township, 56 - 16.
Galesburg's Antwon Walker was named the Dave's Autobody Crunch Time Player of the Game. The two touchdowns for the Streaks were receptions by Antwon, and he had a third TD reception reversed by the referees. He finished with 7 receptions overall for 110 yards.
Bradley Eaton had two catches, one for 50 yards. Corey McGee was the leading rusher for the Silver Streaks with 12 carries for 35 yards. Grady Hickey was 8 for 16 passing for 89 yards with an interception. Day'Vion Jones was 2 for 4 passing for 71 yards with 2 touchdowns and an interception. The Silver Streaks were flagged 9 times for 60 yards.
Next week, the Streaks are on the road for another Western Big 6 match-up against Alleman at Augustana College.

REPLAY: Galesburg Silver Streaks football @ Limestone

The Galesburg High School Silver Streaks football team got their first win of the season on the road in a hard-earned, well-played game against the Limestone Rockets, 42 - 25. The Streaks even their season at 1-1.
Galesburg finished with 144-yards on the ground, 186-yards passing and 333-yards of total offense. Grady Hickey completed 10 of 20 passes with one touchdown. Antwon Walker had five receptions for 79-yards. Bradley Eaton grabbed two catches for 54-yards, including a 44-yard catch and run for a touchdown. Ayden Clark finished with 2 receptions for 36-yards, and Kevin Phillips had one reception for 16 yards. On the ground, it was Corey McGee leading the way with 18 carries for 62-yards and a touchdown. Overall the Streaks had five rushing touchdowns including two for Eaton, who had four carries for ten yards, two for Prosper Aremu late in the game with eight carries for 45-yards. And Hickey ran the ball six times for 30-yards. Most of the game was penalty free for the Streaks, except early in the game when they were flagged four times for 43-yards in penalties.
Galesburg's Bradley Eaton was named the Dave's Autobody Crunch Time Player of the Game for the 2-point conversion which gave the Streaks the lead and the momentum out of the half. He had a lot of other big plays in the game, including a rushing touchdown and the passing play to ice the game.
It's Homecoming next Friday (9/12) night for the Silver Streaks as they host United Township.
