REPLAY: Galesburg Silver Streaks football @ Alleman

The Galesburg High School Silver Streaks football team got their first Western Big 6 win under Head Coach Shawn Hickey when they traveled to Augustana College Friday night to take on the Alleman Pioneers. The Streaks put up 26 points in the 4th quarter alone and came away with a 54 - 22 win. They are now 2 - 2 on the season and 1 - 1  in the Western Big 6 Conference.

Galesburg had 474 yards of offense in the game with 209 yards on the ground with 22 carries and five touchdowns. Corey McGee had 10 carries for 79 yards and three touchdowns. Prosper Aremu ran for 65 yards and a touchdown on five carries. Zacheriah Smith had 2 carries for 65 yards and a touchdown.

In the air, Grady Hickey finished with 16 of 24 passing for 265 yards and three touchdowns. The Silver Streaks had two receivers with over 100 yards receiving tonight. Antwon Walker had five receptions for 131 yards and a touchdown, and Demetrius Watson had nine receptions for 110 yards and two touchdowns. Ayden Clark had a 13 yard catch and Bradley Eaton had an 11 yard reception. Galesburg was flagged 11 times for 109 yards while Alleman was only whistled three times for 15 yards.

With over 100 yards receiving, Galesburg's Demetrius Watson was named the Dave's Autobody Crunch Time Player of the Game. His touchdown catch in the 3rd quarter on a slant route while breaking a couple of tackles got the Streaks scoring into high gear.

Next up for the Silver Streaks is a road trip to Sterling Friday (9/26) night for their next Western Big 6 match-up against the Golden Warriors.
