The Galesburg girls basketball team suffered their first loss of the season in a Western Big 6 match-up at Sterling High School, falling 47 - 42 to the Golden Warriors. Galesburg is now 6-1 on the season and 1-1 in conference play.
Leading the way for the Silver Streaks was Zaniyah Carter with 9 points, Ella Herchenroder scored 8 points, and Jozalyn Kilgore finished with 7 points. Overall Galesburg was 17 of 48 from the field, 2 of 15 from the three-point range, and 6 of 8 from the free-throw line. They grabbed 31 rebounds, had 7 assists, and committed 16 turnovers.
In the 2nd half, Ella Herchenroder stepped up her game on both offense and defense and was named the Dave's Auto Body Crunch Time Player of the Game. In addition to contributing 8 points, she had a couple of rebounds, 3 assists, and a couple of steals.
