What is Huntington’s Disease? Find out at an upcoming walk

Huntington's Disease is a genetic disorder that breaks down the brain's nerve cells, deteriorating physical and mental abilities.

It's like, officials say, having ALS, Parkinson's and Alzheimer's diseases together, and the symptoms are much the same.  As many as 200,000 Americans are at risk of inheriting the disease, and 30,000 Americans are estimated to have symptoms of HD.

This is the fifth year the Huntington's Disease Society of America is hosting a "Team Hope Walk" for Central Illinois in Galesburg, scheduled for Saturday, September 21, at Lake Storey.  Sarah Cozad, the walk's organizer, talks about it with Will Stevenson on Galesburg's Morning News.
