Mercer County Marker Fundraiser

Makaila Hootman, Mercer County Fair Queen 2019, is partnering with local citizens and establishments to host a fundraiser. It will be held on Wednesday November 6th with a free will donation dinner at United High School prior to the UHS Fall Band Concert. There will also be a pie/dessert auction at 6:30 prior to the concert. This dinner is to raise funds for The Mercer County Marker Committee that was established to ensure that every veteran’s gravesite has a marker within Mercer County. The markers are a bronze metal star with a brass rod that holds a flag and cost $30 each. The committee has placed over 760 markers to date within Mercer County. Quite a feat as each cemetery has to be researched prior to placement.
