Calvary Assembly To Host Circus Today

kelly miller circusThe big top is in Galesburg today and the circus has come to town.

Calvary Assembly Church on Linwood Road will host that circus, complete with animals and performers from all over the world.

Pastor of Calvary Assembly Jeff Morrow tells Galesburg’s Morning News on WGIL, that proceeds from the shows will all be given to good causes.

“The money that the church will raise, and really isn’t that much–half of it will go to help kids with disabilities go to camp next year,” says Morrow. “Then, we are going to take the other half and we are going to help the youth of our community go to camp. These are kids that don’t go to church, and they aren’t part of our church. We are going to help them get to a camp next summer. It really is a good cause.”

The camp for children with disabilities that Morrow is referring to is Camp Kidz. Last weekend, a concert at Northwoods church raised nearly $5,000 for that organization.

Morrow adds that today’s circus really will be for the kids.

“I think the kids are absolutely going to have a blast. I remember when I was a young boy and going to watch the circus. I can still remember that. It was just so impacting. I hope the parents bring their kids out, because they will have a great time.”

The church will hold two showings, one at 4:30 p.m. and the other at 7:30 p.m..
