Ivan Kenneth Line, Sr., 67 of Galesburg, passed away at 9 a.m. Friday, March 23, 2018 at home.He was born September 1, 1950 in Canton, the son of Robert Kenneth and Neva Irene (Fahey) Line.

Ivan is survived by one son, Ivan K. (and Mary Jo) Line, Jr. of Galesburg; one daughter, Connie Simmons of Monmouth; two grandchildren, Chance Patrick Simmons and Logan Stanley; one brother, Dale (and Rosemary) Line of rural Hanna City; one niece, Dawn Line of Bushnell; great nieces, great- nephews, one great-great-nephew; and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two grandchildren, Joseph M. Simmons and Grant Nicholas Simmons, and one nephew, Scott Line.

He grew up in the Yates City and Abingdon areas and graduated from Abingdon High School.  He was active in 4-H and FFA while growing up.  He has lived in Galesburg the past 30 years and worked and retired from Galesburg Castings. He also worked as a farm hand.  His hobbies included bowling, playing horseshoes.  He loved spending time playing darts and pool with his friends at Shady Hill and the Patio, both in Galesburg.  Ivan was an animal lover and frequently donated to Knox County Humane Society and Guardian Angels. He also spent time with the squirrels and animals around the bars every day, usually feeding them and he had names for each of them and could tell them apart.

Cremation will be accorded.  Private burial of his ashes will be in the East Midway Cemetery near London Mills.  A Celebration of Life will be held from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 7, 2018 at the Shady Hill, 1374 Monmouth Boulevard in Galesburg.

Memorials may be made to the family.  Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Abingdon Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
