Lucille Morling, 85, of Galesburg, died at 4:14 a.m. Thursday, November 12, 2020, in Great River Medical Center in West Burlington, Iowa.

She was born Clara Lucille Malcolm on February 22, 1935, to Herman Valentine and Maria Marguerite (Dunlevey) Malcolm. She married Dale Edwin Morling on January 16, 1955, at First Christian Church of Galesburg.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 66 years, Dale; three children, Valerie Jeanne (Alan Erwin) Edwards of Cameron, Paula Lynn (Steven Lee) Rassi of Morton, and Keith Russell (Tracy Ann) Morling of Galesburg; eight grandchildren, Jennifer (James) McGuire, Aaron (Sarah) Edwards, Amanda (Eric) Linder, Blake (Jezreel) Edwards, Ryan (Leane) Rassi, Seth (Chelsey) Morling, Calihan (Jessica) Morling, and Thaddeus Morling; a step-granddaughter, Laura (Tim) Stanesa; eight great-grandchildren, Jacob Edwards, Avery Edwards, Brayden McGuire, Brody McGuire, Sklyer McGuire, Maddie Linder, Clara Linder, Enzo Edwards; and four step-great-grandchildren, Christopher Stanesa, Andrew Stanesa, Benjamin Stanesa, and Katherine Stanesa. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister.

Lucille was a devoted homemaker and farm wife. She and Dale lived on the family farm in Warren County all her life before moving into Galesburg in 1994. She was an active member of Coldbrook Christian Church, its Women’s Club, and Naomi Circle. Lucille was also a member of Tuscrora Study Club and Chapter AN of PEO. She volunteered with Galesburg Cottage Hospital Lifeline Program, where she served as treasurer.

Lucille never knew her mother, as she passed away giving birth to her. Her family is comforted knowing that they are now reunited forever in heaven.

Lucille, my wife, mom, grandma, great-grandma until we meet again. You will always be in our hearts.

Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, November 22, 2020, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services. Due to guidelines associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing and facemasks will be required with limited seating. A private family funeral will be Friday, November 27, 2020, at the chapel with Rev. Rick Warren officiating.
