Six coaches from the Galesburg-area have received recognition as district coaches of the year by the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association for the 2023-24 season.
Recently retired Galesburg High School girls basketball coach Evan Massey was named District 16 Coach of the Year for Class 3A. girls Brent Dugan of Abingdon-Avon and Maribeth Dura of Canton were named District 16 Coaches of the Year for Class 1A and 2A, respectively.
Jeremy Anderson of Macomb was named District 16 Coach of the Year for Class 1A boys.
In junior high girls, Mark Harden of Galesburg and Ashley McKown of Lewistown were both honored in 7th grade District 16.
