William E. “Ed” Mills, age 79, of Galesburg, Illinois, passed away on Monday, April 20, 2026, at 5:48 p.m. at his home in Galesburg, Illinois.
Ed was born on July 10, 1946, in Galesburg, Illinois, the son of William Parker and Kathryn Grace (Holmes) Mills. He attended and graduated from Galesburg High School. He served in the United States Army from February 19, 1969, to September 27, 1970.
Surviving are two daughters, Amy Stein of Galesburg, Illinois, and Carey Stein of Galesburg, Illinois; three grandchildren, Riley Erickson, Chance McKee, and Shyann Sosa, all of Galesburg, Illinois; one sister, Joan Tack of Palm Harbor, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Robert Mills.
He worked all of his life as a laborer in the area.
