Central Illinois Friends will launch a new clinic in Galesburg in mid-July, ensuring continued access to essential sexual and reproductive healthcare following the closure of Family Planning Service of Western Illinois at the end of June.
Operating in the Bondi Building at 311 E. Main St., Suite 40, the new location will provide a range of services, including confidential HIV/STI testing, Plan B and birth control options, pap smears, breast/chest exams, gender-affirming hormone therapy, and testing for pregnancy. The expansion aims to fill the gap left by Family Planning Service, a long-standing provider of compassionate care in the region.
“We are deeply grateful for the decades of service provided by Family Planning Service of Western Illinois,” said Deric Kimler, Executive Director of Central Illinois Friends. “Their dedication to the community has been invaluable, and we are honored to carry forward their mission of accessible, affirming healthcare for all.”
Central Illinois Friends, a nonprofit focused on inclusive sexual health services, education, and advocacy, is committed to serving underserved communities with stigma-free care.
