Region 2 of Governor J.B. Pritzker’s Restore Illinois Plan, which includes Knox, Warren, and surrounding counties, will see loosened COVID-19 restrictions.

Mitigations include limiting social gatherings and meetings to 25 guests or 25 percent of overall room capacity both indoors and outdoors, excluding party buses and students participating in in-person classroom learning or sports.

Recreational sports, fitness centers, and outdoor activities can return as can indoor dining with guest limitations and social distancing.

The shift in mitigations came quickly as the Governor announced on Friday that Region 2 was shifting from Tier 3 to Tier 2 Friday.

Factors that determine if a region can change tiers include a region’s positivity rate, ICU and surgical bed availability, ventilator availability, and change in positivity rate over the last 14 days.
