Barbara Ann Reed, 79, died July 16, 2016 with her loving family at her side.She was born October 23, 1936 in Quincy, IL to Thomas J. and Mildred Ann Riley Cox. She married Kenneth Reed on August 30, 1953 in Macomb, Illinois.
Barbara is survived by her faithful husband of nearly 63 years, Kenneth L. Reed of Galesburg; two daughters Debra Pico (and Tim) of Champaign, Illinois and Beth Trisilla (and Anthony) of Galesburg; four granddaughters Amy Pico (and Chad Seeber) of Champaign, Angela Pico Roberts (and Michael) of Tallahassee, Florida, Natalie Trisilla (and Joel Meister) of Arlington, Virginia and Nina Trisilla of Peoria; and one great grandson, Gabriel Seeber of Champaign. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and step brother.
Barbara attended Western Illinois High School. Barbara was the much loved secretary at Bethany Baptist Church and at Galesburg Christian School for many years. She also taught Sunday school and Children’s Church and was a dedicated Vacation Bible School volunteer for decades. She was a devoted member of Harmony Baptist Church.
Funeral services are scheduled for 6:00 pm Thursday, July 21, 2016 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Rev. Chris Nissley will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 pm Thursday at the chapel. A private family committal service will be Friday, July 22, 2016 at Oakwood Cemetery in Macomb. Our family mourns the loss of this loving, Christian woman but we take comfort in knowing we will see her again in heaven. Her earthly memory lives on in each of us. Well done, good and faithful servant.
